In January 2005, John Askew released his first album "Lower The Tone" a triple CD. One of the CD's featured a live set recorded at The Gallery in London (complete with the sound of the Turnmills crowd going wild). It was called "Live as Fucking Fuck" and as part of the overall album package , it sold out in under 3 weeks. Discover Records decided to make this part of the album into a series and "Live as" series was born.....

On Saturday August 12th a packed house at legendary club night "Passion" at The Emporium in Coalville witnessed what many who were there have described as the club night of the year so far. Matt Hardwick and John Askew played phenomenal sets and the crowd went absolutely ballistic as you can hear.

The tracklist speaks for itself comprising of about 50% in house Recoverworld labels and 50% from our friends within the industry who sing from the same song sheet as ourselves. With friends like Vandit, Love Distortion, Anjunabeats etc, you can't go far wrong.

This really is a listen for yourself album. A great night is captured on CD and has created what we believe to be one of the albums of the year !

With an endless sea of perfectly computer mixed compilations the one's that I love and cherish the most are the raw live recordings with crowd noise. It's like when you hear an Essential mix on Radio One - live from a festival or Ibiza or wherever and you hear the crowd kicking off. It makes you want to be there, or if you were there and you're listening back then it takes you back giving you the chance to relive that special occasion.
